We pride ourselves on providing authentic, high-quality ceramics which are sustainable, stylish and functional. Designed in Berlin, we make sure every detail is perfected in the design process using multiple iterations of technical drawings to create the final design.
We are inspired by the peaceful, harmonious colours which are found in the Portuguese landscape and so our ceramics are available in four colours which compliment one another: black, white, rose and light blue.
Modern & Minimalist
We are passionate about providing contemporary ceramics which are modern, yet also incorporate traditional techniques. Easily stackable with a smooth, semi-matte finish, we have designed plates, bowls and cups which have a minimalist design and an Instagram worthy aesthetic so that you can enjoy the fine dining experience from home.
Portuguese Stoneware
We use traditional artisan techniques that preserve Portuguese heritage and craftsmanship. Ceramics have always been integral to Portugal’s architecture and to the Portuguese way of life. With a deep appreciation of Portuguese culture, Cimacotta seeks to blend traditional techniques with stylish, modern designs that bring a fresh and exciting twist to this fascinating historical craft.
Our Production Process
1. Mold Development:
Our tableware undergoes a long production process as we use a traditional molding technique which involves individually pouring liquid clay and water into each mold and waiting for the outer edge to solidify.
2. Clay is mixed and shaped into molds:
Clay is sourced locally and then mixed and shaped into the molds. Each mold is then fired at a high temperature as this makes the ceramics more durable.
3. Glaze is applied:
The pieces are then coloured and glazed with the matte finish before being fired again in the oven. The glaze is reactive, semi-matte and scratch resistant which ensures that the ceramics are not easily damaged.
4. Quality Check:
All of our ceramics get quality checked by the team and individually packaged to ensure that we deliver premium quality tableware free of any chips or breaks.
5. Packaging:
We use 100% recyclable materials for our packaging and actively work to lower our carbon footprint. All our ceramics are super durable and carefully packaged to ensure that they ship safely. We ensure no materials are wasted or thrown away in order to reduce the brand’s carbon footprint.
